Tarnished brass in color, bright and vibrant. Runs off the glass fairly quickly, but leaves a sticky ring behind. The nose is pretty easy going, with plenty of corn, a bit of caramel, and leather. I don't think I use that descriptor often, but it seems to fit the bill here.
Soft on the palate, there's an initial sweetness that seems to add to that. The mid palette is spicy and quite warm and it seems like that might take over, but it yields to a pleasant light cream corn note and sawdust before bringing back in bits of vanilla. There's something else going on under the radar here. Maybe milk chocolate covered peanuts? There's some baking spice notes that pop up after the oak dominated finish starts to fade
Pretty well balanced and very easy to drink. Certainly nothing to write home about, but it's not disappointing, especially for the price tag!
