N: Light with that thinness and slight layer of oil that I expect from Irish whiskey. Some nice pears, but also some youthful meatiness. Some mellow spice and faint vanilla from the barrel as well.
P: Ugh, that Irish lightness, alcohol, and oil. This is quite generic. It's clean, but it's just what I'd expect from a $20 Irish whiskey. Though I wouldn't pay $20 for it. This isn't hard to drink though.
Flavor-wise, I get minerals with a little sweet vanilla leading into a mild latter of that Irisih oil. There are faint spices, but not much. I taste the alcohol, though mercifully not meatiness that I feared. It is rather harsh though. Not terribly harsh, but a little harsh. Oh, now that I've taken a bigger sip I'm getting some of that meatiness.
F: Very little flavor here. Mostly just alcohol, mild sweetness, and burn.
- Conclusion -
This is certainly not a 12. I spent a while thinking it was a 9, but that meatiness combined with the harshness and alcohol broght it down to an 8 for me and I'm even considering a 7.
