An intense, limited release Rye Whiskey by Daric Schlesselman for Van Brunt Stillhouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York made from 100% rye mash-bill & aged in medium sized barrels. It has a bold & oily birth with notes of herbs, spices, oak & smoke; while an intense life adds notes of rye, dried apricot, corn, cardamom & green wood; that led to a long, oily & toasty death with bitter oak & a hint of sugar. Light. Hot chocolate made with water instead of milk.

Of all the Van Brunt whiskeys, I would definitely buy a bottle of this. Great balance of spicy of the rye, and quintessential sweetness of the barley. Very tasty rye.

Nose - slightly floral Palate - not good Finish - very strong not in a good way Overall - I had a professor who gave me bad grades throughout college. He made my life hell and it left a bad taste in my mouth. So did this.

Strong rye flavor. A little rough but great mixer.
