Westward Pinot Noir Cask Finish

Good and fruity in all the right ways. Enjoyed this one!

REVISIT!! Just simply delicious! Fruity yea, but very satisfying! Easy to recommend this single malt, they killed this here!

BLIND TASTING Nose: STRONG cocoa notes. Baking spices, dried fruits, fig, raisins, Madeira aroma. I’m already looking forward to the taste! Taste: dried wood, many spices, Christmasy. Suggestive of glendronach, perhaps Glenallachie. Strong cask finish. Tiny sour finish. Based on what I’ve read about glendronach revival, this would be my guess. This is a great slow sipper, really enjoyed this Notes: nice dark color, suggestive of sherry or a fortified wine. Rating: 4.5

Picked this up on a random trip to Portland OR, decided to visit their distillery, what a treat! At first, my tongue said wait, no! But as it moved further across my tongue, it said holy crap, YES!! I never knew how well a single malt finished in THIS type of wine cask, but it is superb!
