Made by Hamilton Distillers in Tucson, Arizona, this "single malt" whiskey is distilled with 100% malted barley smoked over a mesquite fire. It's the unaged version of the distillery's Dorado Mesquite Smoked whiskey, as this is brought to 90-proof and bottled immediately after distillation.

Distilled from a cereal mash bill comprised of any grain(s). Generally unaged except in the US, where it must age at least briefly in oak for an unspecified amount of time. Sometimes sold as "moonshine" although that is a misnomer.

Tasting Notes

"On the nose this is pure, backyard barbecue, burnt brisket and all, augmented by roasted chile poblano and a whiff of rubber from the handle of a pair of tongs set too close to the fire. The palate is more subdued despite smoke at the beginning, the middle and the end. Think grilled asparagus squeezed with roasted lime. And don't be shy about conjuring up images of Oaxacan mezcal. "
