Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary Bourbon

Its a decent pour, glad to have a bottle but here's my one gripe with it. I cant help but pick out almost a menthol taste on the palate/maybe mint? Its not a deal breaker but don't think I'll buy another bottle if I come across it again.

The nose on this one is incredible. Super complex, and unlike anything else I’ve tried before. Baked chicken almost? I can’t place it. Palette is bright and extremely well-rounded. Almost savory and sweet at the same time

There is a definite freshness on the nose with grass, oak, and green peppers, almost like being in a garden. It’s herbaceous and savory on the tongue with notes of varnish and stone fruits and a whisper of caramel sweetness.

This one needed to open up for much longer than expected before I feel like I got what they were going for. All of the lighter notes were hidden at the beginning and all I got was a ton of oak. After about 20 to 30 minutes in the glass, it got worlds better. That’s where I got the notes of the peanut brittle, vanilla and cherry on the nose. The palate was dry throughout and definitely oak forward but not overoaked in my opinion. For some reason this one really makes me want to sit down with my grandpa and talk over a good glass.

Just an overall terrific bourbon. Great nose, balanced palate and really smooth finish. Look forward to tasting this again soon.
