An excellent rye. I agree with the brother-in-law “this is what I think of when I think of rye”.

I have been saving this bottle for years. Just a pour from time to time and tonight I finished the bottle. Nose: herbal with a note of spice Taste: first for a 109 proof rye it drinks like it is a 80 or 90 proof, super smooth. I get the rye spice but not over powering. Dried apple and a little spice. Nothing over powering but just great quality. Finish: the rye spice stays with you and just makes you smile. Overall: since it’s the same mash bill as every other rye in the wild Turkey line up you taste the similarities but with the extra aging and the artful blending this rye is just beautiful.

Nose: baking spices, pepper, apple pie. Taste: red apple, cinnamon, baking spices yet again. A very solid pour but not anything I've never seen before.
