I tasted most products of Wolfburn at a tasting event. Out of Aurora, 375, Northland, Morven, Langskip, The Nectar, and 318, I prefered the 375 and 318. However, at this pricepoint there are better options out there for me.
With Northland the ex-laphroagh quarter casks that were used certainly imprinted on the flavours and added a light smokeyness.
Personally I wasn't overly impressed.
Flaviar taster. Very floral and a little citrus on the nose reminiscent of a light scotch. Bit of spice on the taste but maintains a light floral taste and the finish has medium spice and burn. I enjoyed it but perhaps a little heavy on the spice. This lighter type of scotch is much better than the darker blend I’ve had.
Putrid. No wonder flaviar doles this sample out for free. Spirity like a gin or vodka, heavy burn. Faint flavor of apple and that’s it. One of the worst single malt scotch expressions i’ve ever had.
I enjoyed it. It has bright fruity and floral notes that goes well with the honey.
It feels like a young scotch. Very sharp and bity. But the spice and honey palate is actually very enjoyable.
