One of my least favorite bourbons. On the nose you start with a nice blend that is heavy with oak out of the gate but mellows into vanilla and a dash of citrus and spice. The palate is a bit rough with the heat of alcohol and oak, yet sweetens the longer it lingers in your mouth. The finish is long and harsh, which is what is the most off-putting for me.
My nose was hit with a blast of oak, I can't imagine how strong the Double Oaked will be. At first taste there are bitter flavors that give way to spices reminisce of tart home baked pie. It is definitely a working mans bourbon and not one for my shelf but glad I stopped for the glass.
