The whiskey is soft on the nose for 90 proof. Smells of extremely sweet vanilla, and on the first chew it reinforces it. The whiskey is in fact so strong on vanilla that it makes it hard to get past it. Good, but not great; I really wish there was more depth of flavor being a single barrel. On second conversation with Bynjamin, I agree with the hot pepper spices lingering on a back note.

The 10 year is a definition of a "peat wreak" whiskey. If you take 15 more years, this whiskey matures well beyond it's time. I think 95 is low as this whiskey is sleek, smooth and rich. The peat dried barley shows with amazing quality with hints of sherry and bourbon spice. By far the best scotch I've ever drank.

This whiskey reminds me a lot of it's brother, green spot. It definitely feels less dry in the flavor which makes it a better Irish than most I've had. Fruits and nuts are on the tongue that reminds me of Bushmills 16.

This is an absolute personal favorite of mine. The fact that it is distilled in the great Buckeye State makes it even more amazing. The whiskey is definitely a neat only for me, I think ice or water close of the flavor and shut it down. Straight up notes of wheat and sweet vanilla make this whiskey an easy drinker. Caramel and baking spices remind me of homemade cookies, which makes everything even better!

I tried this on the rocks, very smooth and the flavor profile was open and inviting. There is a big bold rye and spice flavor that smooths out to a bitter finish. I can't say that this would be my absolute favorite Beam product, but it is definitely worth the bottle.

Thanks to an awesome friend, I was able to score a bottle. For the $70 I paid, this whiskey was well worth the wait. The whiskey is smooth and balanced with all the right flavors. Honey is definitely a rise in taste. Fruits and nuts shine a little in the sweeter tones with just the right amount of peat. A+ in my book.

On the nose the whiskey is full of bay leaves and marjoram. The spice blend reminds me of a high end tea store as you sniff. As you chew the whiskey it shows an over developed flavor for its age. The whiskey is extremely smooth and easily palatable for a 2 year 94 proof. I would keep this in my collection for an easy drinker.

On the nose, you are in grandmas kitchen enjoying fresh baked cinnamon bread. Sweet, spice, all the great things in life. As you sip, the fullness snaps you back to reality. The heat behind this whiskey confirms a full body of spices. Fruit flavors balance it out and it finished with a long smooth linger that leaves you wanting more.

Well, um, where to start. I would say straw is a very good description for this whiskey. Having been on a farm all my life I think I would rather distill an old straw bale in a rusty pressure cooker than to drink this again. It is sweet, but it is rough around all the edges. Not for me, but have at it to those who like cheap whiskey.

Alcohol hits the nose abruptly, the bottle I tried was 127 proof. At first hit the alcohol takes hold of your throat. Wheat is apparent and definitely the fore runner on the pallate. Spices come in and the finish is good for the age. I would honestly have Old Tub for the proof or Bernheim for the wheat.
