Yamazaki 12 Year

As far as Japanese Whisky goes, this is probably the best I’ve had. Very well balanced, excellent nose of honey, vanilla, maybe a hint of orange. The palate has some sweetness, smooth smokiness (very subtle on the finish). Overall, excellent pour.

N: some apples and caramel, sweet T: light flavor with a stronger aftertaste that lingers in a good way. Some caramel and toned down sugary fruit.

I agree with Japan trying to replicate Scotland. I taste the smokiness and the peat. Not my go to. However it reminds me of a strong sake. I think i like it the more I have it. Maybe it’s just a nice change in ABV from what I’ve gotten used with “quality” bourbon. More refreshing
