New Spirit Releases - October 4, 2024 - Widow Jane, The Balvenie, and More!

This release from Widow Jane features a blend of 20 year-old straight bourbon whiskeys selected by Head Distiller and Blender Sienna Jevremov. After blending, the batch was then finished in Mizunara oak casks which had a medium toast and light char. Bottled at 99 proof, there are 5,000 bottles produced and it's packaged in a black steel box. Available in US select markets beginning in October 2024. (SRP $500)

This is the third release in Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse Collection. Here, the bourbon barrels were sourced from the Camp Nelson B Rickhouse which was built in 1946 and has the highest elevation and increased sun exposure compared to previous editions. Barrels were selected from the sixth floor from the seven-story building. It is bottled without chill-filtration at a barrel proof of 120.2 — the highest proof from any Russell's Reserve bottling to date. Available at select retailers nationwide and at the Wild Turkey Distillery Visitors Center beginning October 2024. (SRP $300)

This is the seventh edition of Brown-Forman's King of Kentucky Bourbon released annually. It's made from a mash bill of 79% corn, 11% rye, and 10% malted barley and was distilled between July 19, 2007 and November 15, 2007. It was matured 16 years at G and J warehouses, and blended from a batch of 63 barrels chosen from them. These are single barrel expressions so proofs vary depending on the barrel, typically around 125 - 135 proof. Availability is limited to 5,100 bottles as of September 2024. (SRP $349.99)

This 14 year-old bourbon is the third release in the TINCUP's Fourteener series which highlights Colorado's 14ers — mountain peaks with an elevation of at least 14,000 feet. Here, Mount Sneffels is the peak honored by the brand. Aged at least 14 years in new white American oak barrels, it's cut to 84 proof with Eldorado spring water. Available at select retailers nationwide beginning October 2024. (SRP $69.99)

This extra-aged cask strength rye from Old Overholt was barreled in autumn 2012 and aged for 11 years in a four warehouses in Clermont, Kentucky. Bottled without filtration at 107.4 proof, it's available nationwide in limited quantities beginning fall 2024. (SRP $99)

This limited edition release from Hudson Whiskey features a New York rye whiskey which was finished in Calvados casks. It was aged a total of 7 years — at least 3.5 years in new, charred American oak and a further 3.5 years in ex-Calvados casks. This is an Empire Rye certified whiskey and is made with New York grains (95% rye, 5% malted barley). Available nationwide for a limited time beginning October 1, 2024. (SRP $69.99)

The Sneakerhead Blend is the fifth release for the 2XO's Icon Series. Like the others, this one was blended by American whiskey blender Dixon Dedman using a double-barrel process. For this bottling, two bourbon mash bills were used — one with a high-rye 35% recipe and another with a moderate 18% rye recipe. Dedman double-barreled the high-rye recipe into new, charred oak barrels (#3 and #4 char levels) for 9 months to a year. This high-rye portion makes up 60% of the blend. Available nationwide beginning October 2024. (SRP $99.99)

Nearest Green is a no-age statement Tennessee whiskey which is offered at a lower proof and price point than others in the Uncle Nearest portfolio. It's packaged in a bar-friendly slim and tall bottle and is designed for mixing cocktails. Bottled at 84 proof, availability begins online via the brand's website and e-commerce partners in October 2024 with a rollout to bars and retailers to follow across the country beginning in Tennessee. This is the inaugural release of an expected annual limited edition whiskey from Town Branch. It's a small batch bourbon blend (6-10 barrels per batch) featuring a 50:50 blend of wheated bourbon and traditional bourbon mash bills selected from barrels set aside for this expression. The Kentucky straight bourbons range in age from 6 years, 5 months to 8 years, 2 months. Imperium MMXXIV was released on September 30, 2024 with availability in select states in the US. The third expression for the Mary Dowling Whiskey Company features a wheated bourbon made with a mash bill of 65% corn, 25% winter wheat, and 10% malted barley. It's aged for 4+ years in toasted and charred (#3) new American white oak barrels. Bottled at 91 proof, it's available at select retailers nationwide beginning October 2024. (SRP $54.99)

This bottling is matured for 12 years in first-fill American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. Single barrels are selected by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie with no more than 300 individually numbered bottles for each single barrel. Each barrel is bottled at 47.8% ABV without chill-filtration. Originally released in 2013, The Balvenie Single Barrel 12 Year was removed from the brand's range in 2022 due to insufficient stocks. It has returned to shelves in fall 2024 and is available while supplies last. (SRP $79.99)

This limited edition bottling was made in collaboration with Netflix's Squid Game and Johnnie Walker. It features the classic Johnnie Walker Black Label with a redesigned packaging highlighting the brand's Striding Man donning a green tracksuit like the players wear in the series. Additionally, the bottles are numbered from 001 to 456 showcasing the number of players in the show. Released in anticipation of the Series 2 premiere on December 26, 2024, bottles will be available nationwide beginning October 2024. (SRP $34.99)
