Tequila Reposado You Will Love

Reposado translates to "rested," which makes sense considering Tequila Reposados have spent anywhere from 2 to 12 months in barrels. Not quite long enough to call it añejo, but too long to be blanco!

    10 Tequila Herradura Colección de la Casa Reserva 2016 Port Cask Finished Reposado

    Launched in November 2016 is Colección de la Casa Reserva 2016, an updated version of Casa Herradura's original and successful reposado release from 2012. Produced in Amatitán, Jalisco and double-distilled from 100% blue weber agave, it is also double-matured ---initially resting 11 months in medium-char American white oak casks, followed by an additional 2 months in port casks. These finishing casks were hand selected from Portugal and previously used in the aging of port from the Duoro Valley. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

    9 Tequila Gran Dovejo Reposado

    Tequila Gran Dovejo is located in the Highlands of Jalisco and produces only single-estate tequilas. The agave plants are grown by a fifth-generation agave grower in Los Altos. The piñas, or hearts of agave are harvested by hand and then roasted in clay ovens for 36 hours. The piñas are then shredded, the juices extracted and fermented and then double-distilled in copper alembic stills before being aged between six and nine months in American oak barrels which are hand-selected by the Master Distiller to evaluate maturity.

    1 2 3 or as it is meant to be pronounced “Uno, Dos, Tres” is a certified organic tequila brand. The agaves used were sourced from the Tequila Valley and the piñas were cooked for close to two days in stone ovens. The reposado, or “Dos” is aged in white oak for 6 months.

    Don Pilar is a grower-producer distillery located in the Highlands (Los Altos) region of Jalisco. It's named for its distiller, Don José Pilar Contreras Marquez, who grew up ranching, became a migrant worker in the US, returned to Mexico for ranching (and even got a bit part in a movie for it), and then opened his distillery, La Trasquila in 2001. The reposado is aged 6 months in virgin white oak with a no. 2 char, given a medium toast.

    Azuñia Reposado is distilled from 100% blue weber agave grown in Jalisco, Mexico which are harvested 8 to 10 years after planting. The agave is roasted in clay hornos ovens for 36 hours before being distilled twice. This reposado is aged for at least three months in American oak barrels before being bottled and distributed. It is USDA certified organic.

    Rancho Las Pomez is located in Jesus Maria county, a half-mile from Felipe Camarena’s distillery, La Esmeralda. One of the highest elevation Camarena estates at over 6,500 feet, Las Pomez has rich red volcanic soil and its own microclimates, with temps that range from highs of 80 F to lows of 48 F. The extremely ripe agave plants were harvested at 9.5 years old.

    To celebrate 10 years of business, Siembra Azul founder David Suro decided to tap his playful side and combined a reposado (aged between 2 - 12 months) with a touch of extra añejo (aged 3 - 5 years). All the agave used was between 5 - 8 years old at harvest, distilled in a combination of copper and stainless steel pots as well as column stills. All of the distillate was aged in new Missouri white oak. Pushing the boundaries of tequila, this rare limited edition was created at the family distillery of Feliciano Vivanco y Asociados.

    t1 is produced by Master Distiller Germán González, formerly of his family's Chinaco, of 100% Highlands blue agaves--especially mature in some cases. After slow autoclaving and double-distilling--and in the case of the reposado, spending six months in "very old" Scotch barrels, it is bottled in a distinctive, Aladdin-shaped bottle.
