Definitely better value bourbons out there. It's a good bourbon but I wasn't very impressed. Was expecting more out of a bourbon with 89 expert rating and 4.3 customer. Tastes like a traditional, nice bourbon with a little sweetness and that hot finish but no special flavor notes that put it into my top 5 under $80 bourbons

Sagamore Spirit 'Sagamore Reserve' Double Oak Rye (2017 Limited Edition Release)
Rye — (bottled in) Maryland, USA
Reviewed February 20, 2020 (edited January 19, 2021)Currently the favorite rye in my collection ahead of Pikesville Rye(2nd) and Lot No 40 Canadian Rye (3rd). Great full body flavor and finish. Sweet and oaky with a nice hint of spices. -
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 29, 2020 (edited February 14, 2020)2nd time tasting this. First tasting I was very impressed with a balanced sweet and oaky flavor. 2nd tasting was a new bottle and less impressed. Smell was more could be described as mix of vinegar, walnuts, and almond liqueur. The taste also had strong walnut flavor. Didn't taste as sweet and oaky at all (possibly different, subpar batch). 3rd place in a blind taste test behind Sagamore double oaked rye (1st) and Pikesville 110 straight Rye (2nd).
