Redbreast Lustau Edition
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed January 18, 2026 (edited January 19, 2026)Not a fan of it, I would rather prefer a smooth and oily whisky instead of this spicy, dry, slightly sour. After dilluting it with a drop of water some clove flavour was released. -
One more proof that brandies' quality is not always reflected by the price. Firstly I was surprized that a brandy can be sooo spicy and then I felt its softness, its oily consistence and all the interesting combined flavours. Its aftertaste makes the difference and it makes it a good choice. With 22 euro/liter I'll allways have it on the top of my preferences.22.0 EUR per Bottle

Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 14 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 7, 2026 (edited January 11, 2026)It's oily consistence is making it spread on the entire mouth almost instantly. All the flavours from its complex mix are competing in the same time all over the tongue. I like it. -
Glenmorangie The Lasanta 15 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 7, 2026 (edited January 23, 2026)Just another tasting experience, not the best and not the worse. A bit surprising that after 15 years in a barrell, this whisky is still acidic and somehow harsh. Luckily a caramel note is making it more interesting. So, give it s chance, without expecting to find the whisky if your life. -
Vecchia Romagna Etichetta Nera
Other Brandy — Italy
Reviewed January 6, 2026 (edited January 11, 2026)I never understood why such a brandy is so underrated!? It fullfills all my expectations from a brandy, to warm up my blood and let some memories on the back of my tongue. It did it for me so... I'll always be a fan of it. I must recognize that the price and the special-imposible shape of the bottle made me buy it, and I don't regret it. Oily texture, slight sweet caramel, a bit acidic, spicy, with a floral note that I cannot define.20.0 EUR per Bottle -
I am impressed by it with its slight peaty note that, for the first time in my case, doesn't feel bad; it simply reminds me that it is still a Scottish whisky. It has an oily, silky mouthfeel, with discrete caramel notes and velvety texture. All these qualities make it easy-going (maybe too easy to stop drinking). While other whiskies burn the throat, this one is smooth and gently caresses it.

I am just discovering the brandies and Metaxa is the best to start with. A realy pleasure and surprise when the complex creamy mixture of herbs and fruits is reaching the taste buds for the first time. The next sips are only to confirm the first contact. For me it was love at the first try. I appreciate that the price under 30 euros/1000ml is a bargain comparing to the quality of the brandy.25.0 USD per Bottle
