NOSE: Sweet black cherries and fresh plums, some gentle vanilla and cinnamon. TASTE: Sherry is there, nice smooth and oily mouth feel. Very approachable and balanced, no sharp or bitter notes. Good flavor like a juicy red plum. FINISH: Pleasantly sweet and dry. Ends with vanilla. OVERALL: Balanced sherry whisky that won’t offend anyone, but may leave you hoping for more oomph, if anything.

Reviewed November 11, 2018 (edited September 10, 2020)NOSE: Sweet vanilla with fresh flowers. White wine. Then strooong oak and dry leaves and ash. Custard, maybe. Very refined. TASTE: Clean and smooth. Like biting into a fresh strawberry. Oak and red wine tannins are there. FINISH: Oily and smooth, develops some turmeric and cinnamon, leaves you with sweet strawberry at the end! OVERALL: Floral and fresh strawberries make a light yet sophisticated drinking whiskey. Improves flavors with a drop of water. -
NOSE: Mars bars, vanilla, cinnamon, wood, hints of dark fruits linger from sherry casks. TASTE: Spicy cinnamon and rich, fresh orange, oily and smooth. Hints of peat come and go. Water brings out more creamy toffee. FINISH: Lingering sweet spice and creamy, thick mouth feel. OVERALL: Wonderful blend of everything: toffee, sherry, spice, and hints of peat. Like a variety of styles in one bottle, but the notes play around nicely between each other.

Reviewed November 10, 2018 (edited February 7, 2019)NOSE: The sherry hits you before you even touch the glass. Sticky prunes, cherries, and blood oranges. Candied ginger. Hints of leather, oak, and liquorice linger. Closer up you get rich, soft vanilla and cloves. Wonderfully complex nose. TASTE: Very light but extremely buttery and slick. Mouthwatering. Slight flavors of sultanas, chocolate, and cinnamon. FINISH: Long and sweet like bread pudding with hints of cinnamon and ginger. OVERALL: Fantastic show of marrying sherry flavors with whisky. Simply delicious! -
NOSE: Sweet from start to finish, with sugar and vanilla notes. No alcohol to be found anywhere. PALATE: Very drinkable with strong fresh tropical fruit, very smooth and little burn. Overall sweet like brown sugar. FINISH: Smooth and sweet, lingering with vanilla and pineapple. NOSE: Sweet deep nose with rich smoky peat and liquorice. Burning dry leaves. Once the smoke clears, you get soft sherry raisins and pears. Glazed ham. TASTE: Bright strong palate with leather and smoke. Without water it’s fire. Sugary sweetness comes out with added water drops. Bacon jam. Tastes like dry earth in a good way. Ends with slight cocoa bitterness from oak casks. FINISH: Smooth oily finish lingers medium length with leather and dark fruits from sherry cask. Fantastic finish. OVERALL: Strooong flavor. Great marriage of peat and sherry, with a strong bias of deep & rich peaty flavors but smooth sherry finish.
