I bought a bottle of Lot No. 40 Dark Oak, but found it too dry for my tastes. Fortunately, I had a bottle of Knob Creek Rye which I found too sweet. Ralfy, on his Youtube site had a segment where he talked about blending similar whiskey's. So I blended Lot No. 40 Dark Oak with Knob Creek Rye on a 50/50 formula and found an excellent whiskey. One was too dry, the other too sweet. I am pleased with the results.65.0 CAD per Bottle

This is a very good American rye. I wish it had been bottled at 100 proof rather than 90. It is a touch thin because of this, when compared with Knob Creek 100 proof. To me, it is less sweet than Knob Creek and has a little more complexity in taste. It seems a little sharper and a touch rougher than Knob Creek but still an excellent pour.53.0 CAD per Bottle

Maker's Mark 46 French Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 26, 2022 (edited March 4, 2022)This is excellence in a bottle. The oak staves add more flavor than the original. This is the best wheated bourbon I have enjoyed, and I will continue to buy this gem. It is smooth and flavorful. This bourbon, like my beautiful wife, makes me very happy.60.0 CAD per Bottle -
I must first state that I enjoy rye. Some people will rate a bourbon with a high rye content without disclosing that they don't like rye. This whisky being at leat 51% rye is a delightful taste for me. It drinks best with an ice cube and nothing else. I tried adding a little water and was less than pleased. This is nirvana in a glass to me. Not too sweet, just right. I've upped my review from 4.5 to 5.0 because I like it more than ever.50.0 CAD per Bottle

Knob Creek 9 Year Single Barrel Reserve
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 4, 2022 (edited February 5, 2022)This is the best bourbon I have ever enjoyed here in Canada. You'd never know it is 120 proof. So smooth, rounded and delicious. I like to add about 1/4 ounce of spring water to 11/2 oz of this wonderful liquid, plus an ice cube made with spring water. The taste keeps me coming back for more. This is an exemplary bourbon, but the 60% abv is a little too much for me. But still a delicious pour.63.0 CAD per Bottle -
Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 24, 2022 (edited June 3, 2022)This was a major surprise for me, since the bourbon contains a high percentage of corn (70%). I expected a much sweeter taste, but this bourbon is relatively dry. This was very appealing to me. I found the taste to be smooth and delicious after adding a little spring water and an ice cube. The 45% abv adds to the flavor profile. I will definitely be buying this again and again. It is an excellent value here in Canada for $40.40.0 CAD per Bottle -
I have always avoided scotch aged in sherry casks, until now. The hype brought me to order a bottle (half bottle) for $70 Canadian. This is a quality dram from the first taste. The aging process used by Dewars exquisitely blends the ingredients to perfection. It doesn't have the sickenly sweet taste of the majority of sherry aged whiskey's I have tried. This is a true masterpiece, especially for the price. This is far better than any blended scotch I have ever enjoyed. For me, it's too expensive for daily consumption. But I will keep this for special occasions with special friends.70.0 CAD per Bottle
