Tastes

Light fruity nose full of dried apricots and honey sweetness. Really delicate with a perfume quality. On the palate things get much more aggressive, a tad too much so in my opinion. A nice peppery kick starts things off with some tannic barrel notes as well. Unfurls into the sweetness that was found on the nose with flavors of dried apricots and toasty sweet bread. The finish leaves you wanting more but has a nice burnt marshmallow taste to it. Overall a great whiskey and very complex but leaves me wanting more in terms of balance. The spice is a bit overpowering. A great dram but not totally worth the high price.

Fresh floral oak. A bit of a funky barnyard sort of taste with some sweet vanilla notes. Light and sweet. Not an everyday drinker but a good option for those not looking for the typical rich bourbon notes.

Creamy and spicy with a juicy fruit center. Extremely pleasant nose that is light and effervescent. Very rounded and subtle.

Well deserving of the name. Strong ashy peat on the front of the palate that develops into chocolate malt and burnt marshmallows. Great value whiskey and so glad to see big distilleries experimenting with low age statements!

Sweet cherry and some sour barrel notes and spice. A good value whiskey.

Juicy red fruits and barrel tannins. Slight tobacco finish.

Sweeter and spicier than no name 1. Leather, smoke, strawberries and cream on the nose. Big hit of spice on the palate. Big bold and tasty.

Fresh ashy peat. strawberries caramel and spicy palate. A lot of layers once you acclimate to the smoke. Definitely a step up from peat monster.

Salty seaweed and smoke. Frosting like malty sweetness underneath. Light spicy finish. A very pleasant smokey blend.

Light fresh smoke. Lemon meringue pie and malty undertones. Minty freshness on the nose and finish. A good entry islay.
