Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year

Reviewed October 29, 2014 (edited October 25, 2015)Nice wood and fruit notes on the nose. More fruit and sweet notes on the taste. You do taste the alcohol but has an enjoyable oily finish. Best bang for buck scotch, absolutely. -
Highland Park 12 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed October 24, 2014 (edited April 24, 2018)Floral and wood on the the nose. Honey and fruit on the taste with a bit of peat. Leaves you with a warm and sweet finish. -
Nikka Taketsuru 12 Year Pure Malt
Blended Malt — Japan
Reviewed October 19, 2014 (edited April 24, 2018)Heavy floral and cocoa on the nose. Sweet fruit, floral and bit of an apple cider on the taste. Needs a bit of water to activate the flavour. -
Aberlour 12 Year Double Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 18, 2014 (edited May 28, 2017)Nice nose and taste. Heavy fruit on the nose and fruit/sweet spice/liquorice on the taste and finish. Needs a bit of water to enjoy fully. -
Glenfiddich 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 11, 2014 (edited October 25, 2015)Nice fruit (mainly pear and citrus) and vanilla notes on the nose and taste. More vanilla on the taste, and more fruit on the smell. With a bit of water (though it is not really needed) opens up the sweetness of the scotch. Full & warm finish. Good sctoch at a reasonable price. -
The Glenrothes Select Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 11, 2014 (edited January 28, 2015)Big spice and fruit notes on the nose and taste. Nice in mouth feel and finish. Open up with a bit of water, and the sweet and floral notes pickup. Overall, very pleasant light scotch.
