A crisp, Fruit Vodka by the LeVecke Family & Mark Nigbur; founders of the Hali’imaile Distilling Company in Maui made from pineapples. Pineapple tailings are collected from the local processing factories & made into a mash fermented with natural yeasts. Mark’s unique glass stills pass the resulting Spirits through volcanic rock & charcoal filtration on the way out, arriving at 95.5% ABV in one pass. It is then cut to 40% using natural, local spring water. It has a delicate birth with notes of tropical fruits; while a rich & delicate life adds notes of citrus, pineapple, coconut & strawberry; that leads to a smooth & refreshing death with a hint of oak & biscuit. It is made with barley that is NOT peated, but the Spirit is rested in virgin American oak barrels that have been charred with burning peat before being distilled 4 times in copper pot stills. It has a delicate birth with hints of Single Malt florals, honey & a sea spray; while a creamy life adds hints of brine, char & gingerbread; that leads to a delicate yet smoky death with a hint of clove & sugar. A creamy, single malt vodka by Patrick Shelley for the West Cork Distillery in Ireland; founded Origin Spirits Ltd. made from 100% Irish malted barley & natural spring water; triple-distilled in pot stills, then aged in barrels before being distilled one last time. It has a delicate birth with notes of barely, a hint of malt, butter & fresh lemon zest; while a creamy & intense life adds notes of shortbread biscuits, hints of fruits & soft cream; hat lead to a thick & wet death with hints of malt.
