Heaven Hill Bottled In Bond 7 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 11, 2022 (edited December 2, 2022)Notes of orange, cinnamon candy, vanilla, chocolate covered cherry and caramel. It's sweet but with a good punch of spice and burn. I'm sure it's great in a cocktail as it tastes of a higher proof. Really great flavors here. -
Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 3, 2022 (edited April 12, 2023)Delicious, complex, and damn spicy. Black pepper, grass, oak, citrus, spice, black licorice. You get the spice and oak instantly in the sip, then you get hit with nice dark caramel fruit notes. There's a real nice wood note present. It all blends together well, it's something you can sit with neat and be happy. -
I get those flintstone push up pops or orange sherbert. It's sweet, but not overly sweet. I've had sweet flavored whiskeys that were just not at all drinkable. This isn't quite that level, but almost verges on it. It tastes like you would guess from the nose. Could probably make a good cocktail when you're feeling creative.

Been going through Buffalo Trace products lately. (there's still many I have to try.) I found this one to be on the top of the list for me so far. Pine, citrus, honey and spice on the nose. The flavor profile was a Rollercoaster ride. Begins with fruit notes, then I start quickly getting malty and dark notes on the pallette. Smoked oak and rye spice emerges with a bit of mint. The mint begins with grow with each sip but underneath it, the shifting of flavors is still present. As far as ryes go, it might lack on what you would regularly expect. It's strength is its wide array of flavors it brings.

Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 26, 2022 (edited November 15, 2022)Orange, lemon, clove, butterscotch, some leather with the right amount of oak. There's a bit going on and I need more time to sit with it. It isn't worth the price, but still a nice bourbon.
