Tomatin 18 Year Oloroso Sherry Casks
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed September 3, 2019 (edited December 24, 2019)Buttered toast , chocolate, nutty, dried fruit , waxy , tiny hint of smoke at the end. This is a very enjoyable exasperation. Well done tomatin. It does take 15-20 minutes to open and it still changed while drinking it over the time in the glass. -
Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch #1
Single Malt — Campeltown, Scotland
Reviewed August 20, 2019 (edited December 22, 2021)I’m not sure about this one. I love the kilkerran 12 , 8 but this one didn’t seem balanced. I only had one tasting and maybe it would have gotten better. I don’t think it’s one I would buy but definitely would like to try again. -
GlenAllachie 18 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 21, 2019 (edited February 19, 2020)Not sure with this one yet. Still early in the relationship. It’s got a sweet and sour side with a round full middle a snap of spice thrown in and something that lingers. It will be a fun journey. Definitely worth the price for an 18 year. Letting it sit awhile before tasting makes a big difference in the enjoyment of this. -
This is a really enjoyable dram , initially a soft creamy texture with a sharpness st the finish. Sour apple , vanilla , fudge dried fruit hint of smoke on the pallet. Nose cloves , mixed spice a touch of smoke. I like the high ABV it seams to conceal some of the tasting notes at first but slowly reveals it over time. . Fun and enjoyable expression.

GlenAllachie 10 Year Cask Strength Batch 1
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 30, 2019 (edited January 11, 2021)This is a great expression. PX comes out in the taste along with the oak. Fresh sweet fruit on the nose , vanilla on the nose and taste. Full body smooth with some bite in the middle then rounds and lingers in the end. Going to enjoy this bottle. I would definitely replace this when finished great value.
