Reviewed February 10, 2024 (edited March 27, 2024)116.8 proof Nose: smells alcohol-y. Palate: it tastes solid i just cant pinpoint any specific flavors. Gets better as you go. Finish: a little kentucky burn / kentucky hug. Water?: a little water helped this soo much! It was very good after the water. -
BLIND: Could not tell this was a rye at all until i got a little spice adding water! Nose: light oak. A little alcohol-y. Palate: light and very little burn. Almost like a really light honey type feel. Finish: very short light burn on the back of the tongue. Water?: no. The water took it to even less burn and brought out a little spice.

Barrel pick: Barrel #4387 by Liquor Locker Nose: strong, deep wood scent. Palate: starts out light and sweet and progressively gets hotter Finish: long afterburn on the back of the tongue. Water?: water yes. Mellowed out the heat a ton. It actually takes is from a sweet start to almost all spice. Very different!

Nose: even smells a little spicy. I get oak with spice. Palate: Definitely a rye with the spice. I get some oak also. But it is mostly spice with a light burn. Finish: Long finish. Sticks around for a long time. Water?: going to say better with no water on this one. It mellowed it out but just made it ehhhh. Been told this is a great cocktail rye.
