    I was surprised when I read about Crown’s notes of fruity grape, but sure enough, there it is. An inoffensive and semi-novel sweet and smooth whiskey, I guess, but nothing interesting enough to take me away from my bourbon.

    A lot of banana on the nose. Nothing woody or spicy about it; just sweet and a little vanilla with an even alcohol burn on the finish. Not my favorite, but very sip-able.

    Not as sweet as standard Maker’s but with a lot more complexity. It’s got the vanilla and baking spices of Maker’s but with a lot more woody and oaky notes. It’s actually a nice compromise between my wife’s bourbon preference (Knob Creek) and my preferences (Maker’s and Woodford). Nothing overwhelming or out of proportion. Nice.

    Big passion fruit taste and not too syrupy to drink straight. Like drinking boozy fruit nectar. Perfect for the summer!

    The only Old Tom style gin that I can reliably find, but a good one. Neat you get the cardamom and the orange peel hitting you just as strong as the juniper. My favorite use, though, is as the centerpiece of a Ford, a martini style cocktail with Old Tom Gin, Benedictine, and dry vermouth. One of my top ten cocktails!

    It’s cheap, widely available, and largely inoffensive. Put it in your hot chocolate on a snowy day. Are their better liqueurs for hot chocolate? Of course. But this is a quick and easy and cheap way to get the Boozy minty hot chocolate that you want.

    Better than original Jim Beam. You get tons of oaky spiciness but not much sweet to balance. It lingers in your mouth for quite a while in a not unpleasant way. I could definitely drink this, but not what I would choose for myself.

    I feel like it smells like a better bourbon than it actually is. Very watery with strong alcohol burn on the finish. Some sweetness but not much else.
