Teeling Single Grain Whiskey
Single Grain — Ireland
Reviewed August 17, 2015 (edited August 29, 2015)This just doesn't do it for me. There is too much of a grain sharpness to it like a nasty vodka. The nose does soften out and release a bit of oak. On the palate it's the same story really. I much prefer the small batch, it is much more interesting and enjoyable to me. -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2015-01 "Big Man, Small Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 13, 2015Wow. This packs a serious punch. I have to be in the mood to have this, however I do enjoy it. Rather sweet with a good helping of corn. Just be prepared for the burn. -
I bought a bottle during a visit to the distillery (which I would highly recommend if you ever find yourself in the area) and I really am impressed. It is not your average scotch considering there is no peat involved in the malting process and it has a sort of sour note on the nose due to an extended fermentation process. All of this owes to a very unique whisky with plenty of character.

Just perfect. This is just liquid gold. Really prominent vanilla, very little burn when enjoyed with a tiny splash of water and just so smooth. Its a shame it's so expensive and a huge shame it has such a low rating. This is now my favorite whiskey. I really want to try the new batch finished in virgin Irish oak casks, hopefully it will be as good.

Nice pot still spice with a perfect little vanilla oaky smoke background. Mellows out so much with just a drop or two of water. I like this as a winter warmer, just enough kick to do the trick. I'm a little sad as I finish off the bottle tonight after a short lived love affair with this great whiskey.

This is perfect to have on a cold winter night, sit back and soak up the smokey spicy goodness. Quite a heavy iodine note but not too much. This is not for the faint of heart. The nose reminds me of my childhood sitting in front of a peat fire with my family. most definitely worth a try if you enjoy a peaty whisky.
