Kilchoman Vintage 2010
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed April 23, 2020 (edited December 26, 2020)This is delicious. All you would expect from Kilchoman in terms of solid smoke, and well rounded out with fruits and vanilla. Really full bodied and balanced. -
Port Charlotte 10 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 15, 2019 (edited November 16, 2019)Very pleasantly surprised by this one. It has all the boldness and punch you would expect from a PC, but also brings a roundness to the finish. Smoky, medicinal but also chocolatey. Full mouth feel and on the sweet end of things. -
Longrow 18 Year
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed July 19, 2019 (edited November 9, 2019)This one really evolves after being open for a few weeks. It starts off spiky but really settles down as you work through the bottle. Very well balanced and not too smoky. Smoother than the regular peated with more treacle, less pepper but still a very long finish -
Kilchoman 100% Islay (7th Edition)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed April 13, 2019 (edited November 8, 2019)Solid. Deep flavours with some creaminess to match the peat. -
Lagavulin Distillers Edition
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed March 10, 2019 (edited November 8, 2019)This is classy. Great balance of peat and full bodied sweetness. The peat is more mellow than the standard 16, but still let's you know this is a Lagavulin. Treacle, dark chocolate, almond. Long and strong on the finish. I tried the 1998 / 2014 edition -
Arran Machrie Moor 5th Edition (2014 Release)
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed March 2, 2019 (edited September 27, 2022)Really enjoyed this. It needs quite a bit of time in the glass to open up but when it does it is a perfectly balanced and quite unique dram. The peat plays a background role and complements the sweetness. Very different to other Arran I have tried
