Tastes

Distinct grass, all-spice, lake mud, cinnamon, and vanilla on the nose. Almost all on first taste, along with a touch of pepper and more grass. A splash of water opens up more grains and gives it a longer finish. The heat comes on late with a nice, lingering warmth. Prefer it neat. Really appreciate the grass and muddy tones that way.

First tasted this on location two years ago, and it was hot. Has smoothed our substantially in the cellar. Oak, honey, and burnt caramel on the nose. Smooth and approachable first hit followed by an easy heat, oak, char, red wine, and cereal. Sweet and smooth finish that lands a little dry.

Cinnamon, sugar, red wine, ash on the nose. Smooth palate with first hits of mulling spices, heat, char, and oak. A dry port finish with a smooth and medium finish. A dash of water serves well to open the flavor profile, but a cube mutes it a bit too much and crushes that warm, wintry mouthfeel.

Good heat and spice. Definitely an acquired taste.

Washes of rich maple and biscuit with a warm char and a rich chew. Excellent price point for a batch that should age well.
