Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon 7 Year (2020 Limited Edition)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 23, 2020 (edited October 18, 2020)The Armagnac comes through clearly yet complementary throughout the whole experience. This adds a very unique fruity and caramelized brown sugar note. The oak and vanilla are the main bourbon notes that shine through the Armagnac layer with just a hint of barrel spice peaking through as well. I was impressed by this. Much better than I was expecting. -
Wow. From beginning to end. This starts with complex fruitiness made of raisin, prune, ripe dark fruit and dried citrus combined with brown sugar and condensed honey along with some wood notes. Next comes a quick but bold burst of ginger and black pepper spice Finishing with heavy dark chocolate and freshly made espresso with some deep maltiness and touch of woody brightness. Again. Wow.

Wild Turkey Master's Keep 17 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 26, 2020 (edited September 23, 2020)Booming in flavor. 100 proof doesn’t feel watered down. Carmel and confectionary sweetness. And a deep intense antique oak with hints of tobacco. The finish is sugared bruleed oak. Absolutely delicious. Crazy good. -
Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Batch Proof 123.6
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 20, 2020 (edited September 24, 2020)Flavors are bold, balanced and complex. It has the sweetness, spiciness, oakiness, a hint of smokiness and they all work well and are helped by the high proof. Finish is good but some flavors fall off. -
Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Batch Proof 123.6
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 17, 2020 (edited July 4, 2020)The nose is awesome and explodes out of the glass. The palate matches with bold and complex sweetness almost resembling the double oaked. A mild spiciness balances it. The finish is good but a little disappointing. Overall an absolutely delicious bourbon. -
Bernheim 7 Year Original Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 30, 2020 (edited June 23, 2020)Strong peanut shell and musty oak. Sweetness is there but not very complex. Flavors don’t come together for my palate. -
Classic bourbon barrel undertones of a basic vanilla-heavy sweet oak. But as is typical glenmorangie, the finishing is in the foreground. The port sings here with a raisin-dominated sweetness that has impressive oakiness but throughout all layers is a wheat bread note from the malt. All flavors come through, all are layered, all are strong.
