Kirkland 24 Year Speyside Sherry Cask Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 26, 2021 (edited September 3, 2022)Nose is fantastic full of dark dried fruits. Palate is like if you slathered a snickers bar with fig preserves. Finish is medium, but a couple drops of water really lengthen it and pull apart this dense dram. Excellent.67.99 USD per Bottle -
Old Fitzgerald Prime Bourbon 80 Proof
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed September 21, 2021 (edited August 29, 2022)Not bad. Great for $19.99 for a 1.75l. I'll take this over old crow, Ezra Brooks, benchmark, wild turkey 81, and Evan Williams black label...and that's all it needs to do to be a winner in this price bracket. -
Sagamore Spirit Cask Strength Straight Rye
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Maryland), USA
Reviewed September 18, 2021This stuff is ridiculous. Super clove, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, star anise...holy smokes it's like a spice cabinet. Nice and sweet, full, and round. It's outstanding. Best rye I've personally had by a wide margin. Kicked the pants off Rittenhouse and left Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Rye in the dust. If you like rye, do yourself a favor and cop this. I was lucky enough to snag it on clearance, but it's fantastic.29.99 USD per Bottle -
Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 7, 2021 (edited October 8, 2021)This is an absolute home run for the price. It handily beat Buffalo Trace in a side by side in my opinion. Palate is rich with nuts, caramel, vanilla, a little red fruit, and a nice medium/long finish. The value this bottle represents is outstanding. Props to Heaven Hill.16.99 USD per Bottle -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed December 24, 2020 (edited May 10, 2021)Delicious. Sweet, barrel char. Nutty. Maple syrup. Similar to Stagg Jr, but doesn't have the cherry note of Stagg. However it does have a nutty and slight bready note Stagg doesn't have. Also, you can find this in the shelf everyday for the same price. It's a winner. -
Lonehand Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee , USA
Reviewed December 23, 2020 (edited January 3, 2021)Did not have high expectations. This must be Jack Daniels distillate because the banana laffy taffy is here, but this is a whisper of Tennessee whiskey because of the low proof and super young age. It's got that young bitter finish, but it's not nearly as bad as swill like Old Thompson. -
Nice aroma of cherry pie filling, vanilla, brown sugar and restrained oak. Palate is supremely approachable. It's an easy sipper and great in cocktails. Full flavored, but it doesn't punch you in the face with intensity like knob creek single barrel for example. It's friendlier. Less interesting? Maybe, but I'm getting these for $9.99 a bottle on clearance, which is like stealing it. Great value. It'll be sad when they're all gone because this is a workhorse bourbon. IMO better than Wild Turkey 101 and just a slight notch below knob creek. However, it makes up for it in value.9.99 USD per Bottle

Nose is pleasant enough with sweets and vanilla. Palate is spiky though. Tastes rough and young. Okay neat and I thought this would make a decent old fashioned, but it's just too spiky and ethanol forward to be pleasant in a cocktail. Finish is medium to long, but that's not necessarily a good thing for this one. I got this as a gift and I just can't see myself buying this. Would order at a bar if if was the only choice aside from rail bourbon.
