Kilchoman Loch Gorm (2015 Edition)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed August 31, 2014 (edited April 20, 2017)Gentle peat smoke and sea salt immediately noticeable on nosing , joined by notes of currents or raisins followed by lavender and nuts when a few drops of water were added. The flavors were sweet berries or plums, smoked salmon and salted butter. The peat smoke is present but not intrusive. Drinks older than it is. -
A tasty dram for sure but left me wondering...where was the peat I loved so much in their 21yr Authenticus bottling? I am also comparing it with the Bruchiladich 16yr Cuvee B which was their Paulliac finished offering that gave some wonderful memories of apricots, honey, pineapple, vanilla and spice. Still, I am very happy to own a bottle.
