Remus Repeal Reserve Series V (2021 Medley)
Bourbon — Indiana , USA
Reviewed December 11, 2022 (edited April 13, 2024)Absolutely delicious. Old MGP with the best oak palate. Caramel and burnt sugar, cream brulee, molasses. This is so good. Proof is indistinguishable and allows for all the age and flavor to stand at the forefront. This is really good bourbon, especially for the price. -
Wild Turkey Bourbon 101
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 9, 2022 (edited December 17, 2022)Considering the price and probable age, this is incredible whiskey and should be in everyone's cabinet. I hope they never increase the price ever. It's phenomenal and the proof is perfect. Love WT101 -
Frey Ranch Single Barrel Cask Strength Straight Bourbon (Four Grain)
Bourbon — Nevada, USA
Reviewed November 22, 2022Nose: This is some really distinct stuff. Very herbal and earthy, roses, cucumber, watermelon, lavender, spice. There's a lot of complexity in the nose there. Alcohol is totally hidden. Taste: WOAH. This is so refreshing. Fruit bowl. Raspberry, citrus, juicy cantaloupe, freshness all around. There's a hint of bread or something similar. This is really tasty stuff, really distinct, totally unique. Finish: Right in the back of the throat, not as strong down the esophagus. It's warm but nowhere near it's proof. Flavors swirl around in the mouth for a while. Overall: This is stellar bourbon. Like, phenomenal stuff to bring out for close friends at the right time. Idk what to compare it to. Big thanks to Randy! -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed November 15, 2022Nose: Bready, Musty, Apple, Oaky, banana bread, hint of citrus, hint of mint. Taste: Burnt oak and brown sugar. Apple fritters and sweet lemon drop. Finish: Long and strong. It coats the esophagus with a tight hug and a sore throat. It's phenomenal. Overall: This is an incredible offering that can occasionally be found on the shelf and not being waited for in a line. $70 a bottle so worth cracking for a treat or celebration. I will hunt this down as it was given to me in a sample. Thanks Tink! -
Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 15
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 7, 2022 (edited April 19, 2023)Nose: Oak, alcohol, red apples, vanilla, warm bread. Taste: Man, I've nearly ruined this one because I've never had it, but have had Benchmark Full Proof so many times. It reminds me very much of that, but a lot more full bodied. It's got the oak, cherries, red apples, red candies, and alcohol. It's very good, but with it's difficulty to find and secondary price, and with how much of a novice I am, I'll continue to keep my BFP stocked. Finish: Warm, comfortable, bite-y. It's a long one. Really enjoyed this. PeeWee is the man! -
Coopers' Craft Barrel Reserve 100 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 5, 2022Nose: Caramel, baby powder (not offensive), floral, hint of vanilla and toffee, red apples, cherries. Almost a little earthy. Taste: Brown Foreman bomb. Reminds me of Signature 100. Cocoa powder, earth. Finish: Pretty long, warm hug! Nothing overwhelming. Overall: I like this one! It's pretty good and very unique. -
Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Batch Proof 118.4
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 29, 2022Nose: Red Delicious Apples, Cherry Sour Gummies, after some air- Green Apple Caramel Sucker, Syrup, really pleasant. Taste: Red fruit, somewhat bready, really tasty. Has the Brown Foreman notes I love. Experience: Feels like it absorbs into the tongue and evaporates. The finish is short but that's a takeout, a few seconds later you get the warmth down your throat. Overall: This is really fantastic stuff!
