At first a fruit, salt and definitely agave taste. Which quickly turns to pepper, cinnamon and heat. A nice step up from the basic blanco’s for only a few dollars more.

Sweet in vanilla and caramel initially but quickly turns into a cinnamon burn. The spicy cinnamon and barrel aroma last’s throughout the tasting. This bottle was part of the Ohio selected release #5, Barrel #17-0368, Rickhouse D.

I prefer strong coffee, so I am drawn to the cask strength, bottled in bond, barrel proof bourbons. This one has a sharp and strong alcohol taste at first but is not overpowering. It’s easy to find and a great value at $32. Barrel #4098, barreled on 12-10-2007.
