Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 22, 2020 (edited December 27, 2022)Nose of cinnamon, maple syrup, and honey. Makes me think of the subtle sweetness of a clover blossom. Rich, round, and sweet, the flavors are golden and regal. The flavor extends like reverb extends a guitar power chord. One of my top 5 tastes. -
Made with grains of wheat and rye, filtered through Russian birch charcoal and quartz sand. Offers a clean and neutral base, first flash is of real butter, then obviously a salted caramel flavor. The smooth mouthfeel is pleasant but not syrupy and it’s flavor authentically replicates those little wrapped square caramel candies very precisely. Nice sipping over ice to warm up on a cold night. Takes me back to a Moscow brothel in 1986.

Empress 1908 Indigo Gin
Distilled Gin — British Columbia, Canada
Reviewed January 20, 2020 (edited July 20, 2020)I’m 51 years old and this is my first taste of gin. It’s like Vladimir Putin had a love child with a Disney princess. It’s made with 6 botanicals: Fairmont (hotel) Empress blend tea, juniper, grapefruit peel, coriander seed, rose petal, butterfly pea blossom (which gives its indigo color), ginger root, and cinnamon bark. Addition of citrus or tonic changes it’s color through a spectrum from blue to pink. Very delicate and tasty!!! -
High West Campfire (Discontinued)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in Utah), Multiple Countries
Reviewed January 4, 2020 (edited December 17, 2021)Nose of sawdust from grandpa’s wood shop mixed with quality leather. A refreshing candied apricot with a crisp green bite but smooth mouth feel. Reminds me of the smoke that rises from a freshly doused campfire. -
Eagle Rare 10 Year Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 20, 2019 (edited December 17, 2021)Smooth nose of golden butterscotch hard candy and real maple syrup. Velvety mouthfeel, full and rich and prominent mouth tingle but no negative burn, like the droplet of a freshly plucked honeysuckle flower or fresh squeezed sweet sugar cane. An unexpected minty and herbal aftertaste. Complex and easy to sip. Very, very good!!!7.0 USD per Shot -
Redneck Riviera Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — USA
Reviewed April 16, 2019 (edited April 20, 2021)Nose of those plastic glue bubbles from a small toothpaste tube that you blow up on the end of a little red straw and Isopropyl alcohol. The nose is so sparse that I think I can smell my ice cubes over it. Mouthfeel of a glycerin suppository. Palate is sterile and astringent. Vanilla and an oaken dryness slip in briefly, but quickly vaporizes into nothingness. Better mix this one with some soda and turn up the country music a little louder. -
Stolen American Whiskey 11 Year
Other Whiskey — Florida, USA
Reviewed December 11, 2018 (edited November 9, 2019)Ive been waiting to see this whiskey added. One of my absolute favorites! Exceptional for the price point. Sweet and smooth. It’s the smokiest whiskey I’ve ever tasted. -
Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 28, 2018 (edited December 17, 2021)Smells like when you’re a kid and take an accidental coke hit of that pink powder from a cherry pixie stick or a like freshly unwrapped cherry cough drop. Tastes of the liquor from a dark chocolate covered maraschino cherry twisted with the flames off a charred oak stave. A perfect burn that takes a backseat to the imagination of how to creatively describe the white pepper finish. This is excellent!!!
