Tastes

I like it a lot.

Obviously young from the nose which is dominated by ethanol. Palate is quite good but I don't sense the sweetness reported by others. The mouthfeel is very oily and slick. Coats the tongue. Finish is short but not unpleasant. A slight burn for the proof but quite smooth to drink. The finish imparts a good flavor to the young whiskey but at times there are some strange sour notes in the finish. Not unpleasant but in my opinion not worth the markup over Red Cask which is a strong Canadian whiskey offering at the price.

Pretty good for a fairly cheap low proof whiskey. The wine barrel finish gives it an interesting twist. Got to admit, I had to have this bottle on my shelf. Looks so cool.

Really good especially for the price. Willett juice never disappoints. Sweet and smooth with very little burn for the proof. Long sweet and slightly hot finish. Excellent dram. Definitely will buy this when I see it again.

Sample from KHW. Neat. Sweet, nutty on the back end. Finish lasts forever but doesn’t burn. Every time I drink Booker’s it’s a great experience. One of my favorites.

Sample from HKW. Neat. Very light gold color. Nose is wine barrel. Sweet, wine barrel taste. Very smooth for 100 pf. Very slight burn. Finish is short and sweet.

Sample from HKW. Neat. Nose is sweet with a slight ethanol hint. Sweet opening finished by slight burn as it passes back. Thin feeling. Medium finish. I like it but don’t think the price is justified.
