Closer to 3.5 than 3 stars. Young and overpriced, as much micro distilled whiskey is, but not bad. Big rye, sweetness, a very rustic, green, grain-forward character that evokes the grain-to-glass ethos, for better or for worse. Dont buy it expecting greatness; buy it because you want to support a little guy doing good things. Has a lot of potential once the juice *actually* matures.

Fairly generic, young LDI bourbon that hinges on a lot of misleading advertising. A bit overpriced for what you get. Tastes green, young. Nutty, with that trademark LDI menthol/dill/almost gin-like character.

It's LDI's 95% rye recipe under yet another label. But LDI's 95% rye is good stuff--minty, menthol, pine, bubblegum, a hint of gin-y-ness--and so is this. Identical to Bulleit Rye, so if you like this flavour, buy whichever of the two is cheaper.

100% rye from Alberta Distillers, but not a "straight" rye. The Alberta provenance is apparent on the nose, which is nice, but the taste and finish are a mix of nauseating sweet pancake syrup and bitter wood. Not worth your time.

Good entry level all-rounder, and makes a classic old-fashioned, but given that (at least for the next few years) it's really just young-ish Four Roses juice under another label, why not go with the real McCoy?
