Tastes

On the nose i get chocolate and toffee, as well as peanuts. Smooth first sip with toffee, cinnamon, oak, char, and leather. Ice offers subtleties to each of the previous mentioned notes. This is a good offering from KY Owl and one i highly recommended.

On the nose there is chocolate, oak, olive (yes olive). First sip offers a great blend of high proof spice and subtle chocolate, cherry, leather, and char. Ice calms some of the spicy up front but the heat still remians on the finish which is pleasant. This is a great offering from Penelope and probably my favorite.

On the nose at first its soft, subtle, and sweet. Soft floral. On the first sip I’m confused at the fact this is 105 proof. There is not any heat or burn. VERY Dangerous. Sweet amd smooth across the board. Nothing too heavy that stands out. This is not complex but an easy every day sipper. Ice pulls in a little extra heat and spice/black pepper up front.

On the nose there is strong notes of vanilla, oak, char, leather, spice (maybe clove), and a slight toasted apple. First sip offers black pepper up front, oak, and a char finish. Ice doesnt change much. Pepper up front, oak and vanilla mid taste, and char finish. This one is good but nothing special to me.

On the nose this one offers vanilla, honey, and oak. First sip offers a spicy note of black pepper up front and a smoother finish with a char undertone. Ice removes most of the burn up front and allows for the other notes like oak, char, and smoke shime through. This is a good offering in a long list of BIB’s.

On the nose I get subtle notes of chocolate covered raspberry, cabernet, and oak. First sip offers more of the oak and char and the subtle cabernet finish was a very nice touch. The cabernet was not overpowering like I’ve had with other bourbons/whiskeys that are finished in wine casks. I can get the dryness from the cabernet mixed in theoughout the taste but it’s subtle and welcoming. I like this one and will enjoy the rest of the bottle. Ice removes most the dryness, increases the smoothness, and pulls the oak and char more to the front of the profile.

On the nose this is more closely like a bourbon and I can get oak and vanilla. First sip has floral, oak, and slight slight brown sugar. Ice creates some subtlety but doesnt change much.

On first sip there is a sweetness unlike most whiskeys and is a Japanese offering that is closer to bourbon than most others. I can get toffee, floral, and honey. Ice subtles some of the key notes and really focused on the sweetness. I like this one with or without ice.

On the nose there is a strong sherry note. First sip i get floaral, slight oak and tannins, and a clove like burn on the finish. Ice changes this quite a bit and adds to the sweetness but removes some of the heat at the end and longer. With ice i like this one a lot
