On the nose i only get subtle tones of sweet but not sugary. First sip is soft, warm, and welcoming. There is not any burn to this and could easily be a daily sipper. Im not familiar with Japanese whiskey but this a great one to start with. Highly recommend. Ice offers a note of the mizunara oak barrel shine through and keeps the smoothness well in tact. Cant get enough of this one.

Hancock's President's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 26, 2023On the nose i get notes of vanilla, oak, apple, and honey. The spicy starts immediately and slow but grows as the pallet develops. Heat is not overpowering. On the pallet there is oak and char as one would expect but I get a soft undertone of maple syrup, dark chocolate, and honey once again. Ice only changes the spice. The overall burn is almost deminished but leaving behind the notes found previously. This is a good offering. Its not found where I’m from but i would recommend getting one again. -
First of all this bottle is a screw top and doesnt have a cork… It looses a couple of points from me before i taste it. Just sayin… On the nose i get vanilla, oak, char, and the slightest hint of cut grass. First sip has a heavy woody taste as the name proclaims. Also noted some sweet vanilla and charred oak. Ice softens some of the burn and offers a stronger note of vanilla and smoke. I like this with ice more than neat.

Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B523
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 19, 2023 (edited August 22, 2023)On the nose i get honey, apple, and soft undertones of oats. Burn is consistent with a barrel proof and not overpowering. Linger is perfect in my opinion neat is great. First sip offers woody, almonds, and a smokey/char finish. Ice cube doesnt change the flavor profile but shortens (not softens) the burn. I really like this one and recommend getting one. -

Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 15, 2023 (edited August 14, 2023)On the nose there is slight vanilla but the note i get most is a blueberry/raspberry. This is from the port barrel and creates in uniquie profile on the nose. The raspberry and vanilla come through first with oak finish. -
On the nose i get heavy vanilla, oak, and a hint white chocolate. On first sip Low end spice that slowly builds and lingrs. The high proof and heavy corn percentage makes the full mouth feel continue for longer than normal. There isnt much flavor other than spice. Oak, leather, and himts of char can be detected but not much more. Ice is what makes this better for me. Ice softens the burn and opens up the leather , tobacco, oak, char, and vanilla finish.
