Typical vanilla and sugar cane with some additional tropical fruits on the nose. Lower ABV compared to the 2005 makes it more mellow. Not as sweet and with a pleasant medicinal flavor. Quite good, but not nearly as good as the 2005. Also improves with a drop of water. 4.15.65.0 USD per BottleMammography Education Inc

Old Potrero 18th Century Style Whiskey
Single Malt — California, USA
Reviewed November 12, 2018 (edited May 31, 2020)Interesting cross between a scotch and a rye. Super creamy mouthfeel. A drop or two of water adds more zest and herbal notes. 3.6.Mammography Education Inc -
Some serious burn on the nose with butterscotch coming through. Moderately spicy and intense. Gets oilier as it sits, almost a citrusy flavored oil to it. One of my favorite moderately priced, relatively easy to find bourbons. Water doesn’t seem to make a huge difference.65.0 USD per BottleMammography Education Inc

2017 AJ’s barrel selection. Moderate spice. Light wood. Thinner mouthfeel (no legs). Not much in the way of complexity. A drop or two of water seems to benefit the mouthfeel and brings in some citrus nuances. Letting it sit even longer brings out an even thicker mouthfeel and some light brown sugar on the nose. Certainly solid for the price, but leaves me wanting.Mammography Education Inc

Light copper color. Butterscotch and caramel on the initial nose, and then sugar cane and candied pear. Salty cigar and tea leaves dominate taste profile with accents of peat. Some pepper, light cinnamon and spice. Very complex. Super unique. A blend of malts and grains aged in ex bourbon casks. 3.85.67.0 USD per BottleMammography Education Inc
