Dark bronze in color. Bready, pizza dough and vanilla vibe on the nose. Lightly sweet vanilla with a bit of a musty, playdough aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with medium burn. 4.1.

As my wife described it - “Like drinking camp fire...but in a good way!” Light sweetness, medium smokiness, molded woodiness, corn-forward goodness. A welcome deviant from the norm.

Orange/copper color. Mild wood-spice and light butterscotch on the nose. Complex flavor profile with a nice burn at the back of the throat. Mouthfeel starts out a bit thin, but becomes a bit more soft and velvety as it sits. This particular bottle has received a fair amount of criticism for both its price point and lack of age statement. While I do agree it’s a bit overpriced and young, there’s a lot to like about this bourbon. If you’re accustomed to paying $100 dollars or more for a bottle of whiskey, you won’t be disappointed after you let this one open up a bit.

Vibrant bronze in color. Aromatic perfume/cologne overwhelms on first nosing. Further nosings reveal corn, light wood-spice and butterscotch. Mouthfeel is soft and thick with moderate spice and a relatively long, even burn. Relatively complex flavor profile. Nothing really takes over, but it’s all there...wood, spice, butterscotch, citrus oil. All in all, this a solid bourbon. Not worth overpaying at $100+, but a great find at retail. Score - 3.95.

Woody spice on the nose. Rather thin, dry flavor profile with a white pepper finish and faint hints of floral/citrus. Thin mouthfeel. Characteristics develop a bit as it sits. Honestly, this one disappoints. I love Old Forester. I love rye. But unfortunately, I do not love Old Forester Rye. 3.65.

Butterscotch-esque nose. Lots of wood and citrus in the flavor profile, much like the 20 year. Nice creamy mouthfeel.

I can’t pin down the nose on this one (aside from vanilla), but the flavor profile is (of course) woody. In addition, I’m getting some smokey citrus on the backend. Nice, but not what I’d expect for “The #1 rated bourbon in the world “.
