Tastes

Nose: Caramel & Vanilla forward. Rye spice, pepper, and a bit of ethanol. Sweet and spicy nose. Palate: Creamy caramel and oak forward. Rye spice follows with a bit of pepper. The sweet forward helps to balance out the rye spice. Finish: Rye spice forward, but very flavorful. Hints of vanilla and caramel with oak and leather. Thoughts: Not bad. Easily sippable. Rye heavy, but the drink does a good job of balancing itself out with the sweet and spice.

Nose: Caramel & Oak. Subtle hints of vanilla. Palate: Toasted nuts & oak, caramel, smooth butter. Finish: Dry finish. A subtle strawberry, and a warming pepper finish in the chest. Thoughts: Very good for the price! The butter on the palate makes it unique from others I’ve had.

Nose: Ethanol on the nose. Warm rye spice, vanilla, and caramel. Palate: Sweet forward with vanilla and caramel. The high rye quickly works it was forward. Finish: Rye spice leads the way, creating a warm and spicy finish. Thoughts: Not bad. Not a huge fan of the rye spice in this bourbon. Probably would not own.

Nose: Vanilla and oak are dominant. Hints reminiscent of a toasted marshmallow in the background. Palate: Very similar to the nose. Oak and vanilla are forward on the palate. Subtle hints of leather and caramel. Finish: Pleasantly warm. Hints of white pepper on the exhale. Thoughts: Very nice toasted sipper. Would have neat.

Nose: Very sweet. Caramel and vanilla forward. Palate: Honey, caramel, and vanilla on the palate. Not much more going on. Finish: A touch of oak on the throat. Simple smooth finish. Thoughts: Overall, very sweet but sippable.

Nose: Oak and brown sugar. Palate: Reminiscent of a maple doughnut. The palate is spicy, but sweet brown sugar, maple, and toasted oak fill the palate. Finish: Hot and long. The finish lingers for a period, the heat working its way from the throat to almost your esophagus. Thoughts: A very warm spicy pour. Pleasant sipping on a cold winters night.

Nose: Caramel and vanilla forward. Subtle banana and oak are overpowered by the first two scents. Palate: Strong maple sugar and caramel right off the sip. A very sweet sip, which makes it difficult to pull out the subtle banana and toasty oak flavors in the background. Finish: Spicy and warm finish which lingers on to flavors of burnt oak and caramel. Despite the initial heat, it is a very long and pleasant finish. Thoughts: At $30~ a bottle, it’s a solid pour. Would buy again!

Nose: Toffee, with a subtle butterscotch and wheat bread note. Palate: Buttery caramel and honey. Finish: subtle sweetness with a bit of warmth. Thoughts: Very nice neat sipper. Caramel and butterscotch make this pour stand out from others.

Nose: Fruit forward with a subtle caramel note at the end. Palate: Mostly fruit. Finish: Slight spice but smooth. Thoughts: Not a bad neat sipper. Would be good over ice too. Not my first choice for cocktails.
