Tastes

Nose: Pretty simple. Vanilla and oak. I got a light hint of butterscotch from the neck pour, but it quickly faded away to the oak. Palate: Vanilla and brown sugar. Relatively sweet palate. Not overly rich or sweet like other members of the double oak family. Finish: Light vanilla and oak fade to a pleasant heat and warmth. A touch of black pepper on the tongue with a nice mouthfeel. Thoughts: Simple. You know what you’re getting. Nice supplement to the night cap or “dessert-esque” Double Oaks like Woodford or Old Forester.

Nose: Peaches & honey fill the nose, bringing a light touch of oak behind. The nose has a dangerous level of ethanol burn when over sniffed. A bit concerning for a 91 proofer. Palate: The peaches and honey follow onto the palate. Notes of vanilla and oak linger. A touch of white pepper spice. Finish: A flash of heat before subsiding to sweeter notes of fruit and vanilla. Oak quickly moves in their place with a kiss of leather. Lingers for a medium finish. Thoughts: A bottle I will definitely keep on my shelf. Easy to drink and pleasant. Not to mention the mission of collecting all 5 keys.

You could smell the beer on the nose. Sip was smooth. Price was fhe only thing keeping me from walking out with a bottle.

Unique. Not bad at all.

Favorite out of the series. Would definitely buy if i had the money burning a hole in my pocket.

Solid. 2nd favorite of series I tried. All classic bourbon notes, just out of my price range.

Good. Liked the #8 more. Grandad’s Bourbon. Would pass at $150/bottle.

Not bad, just young. Would pass for $60/bottle.

Nose: A nice mixture of baking and rye spice, with a touch of vanilla. Palate: Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Bread, cinnamon, spice. Finish: Rye Spice and buttery bread. Thoughts: Wow. Get a bottle.
