Old Grand-Dad Bonded Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 16, 2023 (edited April 19, 2023)If fireball grew up, mellowed out, and became a bourbon. Nose: Strong cinnamon, but not over powering. Sweet caramel & vanilla help to balance it out. Palate: Cinnamon flash up front. Fruit and some baking spice follow, with a hint of the spice at the end. Finish: Sweet finish. Sugar and caramel followed by baking spice. Definitely not bad for the price!25.99 USD per BottleLee's Discount Liquor -
Nose: Bread, oak, vanilla, and a touch of apple. Slight ethanol, but nothing to distract from the nose. Palate: Classic bourbon flavors with a hint of sweetness. Vanilla, caramel, and oak. Finish: A warming spice. Pleasant and long. A hint of pepper with sweet vanilla and chocolate. Very balanced. Thoughts: Definitely solid! Would not hesitate to pick up another bottle if found again.60.0 USD per BottleLee's Discount Liquor

Batch #3 Bottle #4255 Date - 2022 Nose: If an apple turnover and a pecan pie had a baby. The nose is very maple forward, but underneath lie notes of toasted pecan and apple with a hint of bread. Palate: Maple on the tongue, with notes of burnt sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. A pleasantly sweet sip, but not overbearing. Finish: A warm comfortable finish, with lingering notes of shortbread and brown sugar. The finish gives you a little whiskey hug in your chest. Thoughts: Despite seeing mixed reviews on the bottle, I am very fond of it! It’s designed for a sweeter palate, but does an excellent job of balancing the sweetness while still being an easy sipper. Would definitely buy again!79.99 USD per BottleCostco Wholesale

Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 3, 2023 (edited January 21, 2023)Nose: Nothing spectacular. Vanilla, Caramel, subtle honey and floral notes. Palate: Sweet. Honey, fruit, caramel, and vanilla. Finish: Flash of heat before a lingering oak. The honey and vanilla notes come in to balance it out. Very nice finish. Thoughts: Wouldn’t think twice at MSRP. Very good pour, but wouldn’t pay secondary market for it. -
Nose: Earthy with fresh fruit. Vanilla & caramel notes. Slight alcohol burn. Palate: Nice sweet heat. Subtle earthiness, combined with the same nose notes. Finish: Long with notes of pepper and earth. An almost high rye-like finish. Thoughts: Not bad at all. Nothing to really ride home about either though.44.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More

Nose: Notes of graham cracker and marshmallow are hidden by the overpowering cinnamon. Most likely due to the higher proof. Ice helps to open up the nose. Palate: Spicy cinnamon, followed by hints of honey and oak. Wheat grain comes through on the palate. Finish: A flash of heat which lingers and Carrie’s flavors of cinnamon and oak. Thoughts: Would not buy again. Not a very easy sip.74.99 USD per BottleTrevor's Liquor

Barrel: Trevor’s Liquor Store Pick 7340 E McDowell Rd Scottsdale, AZ 85257 United States Nose: Vanilla & Rye Spice. Palate: Oak and some fruit. Black pepper in the background. Oak is not your typical charred oak, it’s smoother. Finish: Long & smooth. Same smooth oak/wood from the palate. Subtle mintiness in the background. Thoughts: Very good pick. Enough rye to taste the spice, but still smooth and easy sipping. Would buy again!44.99 USD per BottleTrevor's Liquor
