Tastes

Nose: cherries, spices smells kind of like winter if that makes sense Taste: definitely has a unique taste to it i would say taste like nutmeg or winter baking spices cinnamon. The finish is short but pleasant. With spices and cherry on the finish. Overall this is very different than other offerings from JD. I have really been a huge fan of all of their single barrel picks most of everything they are doing lately to be honest. For $40 this is a great bottle to keep in your shelf thats different from anything else.

Nose: Very pleasant chocolate covered cherries. I also get a hint of vanilla and definitely can smell the red wine but it isnt overpowering Taste: Cherries, slight oak and vanilla the finish you can taste the cabernet but it is subtle. I got more chocolate on the finish very nice

I quite liked this. Was a little worried after reading revirws but i did get a store pick from Nestors. On nose definitely picked up fruity aromas bananas for me. I plan to have a second try with ice but i tried mine neat. I thought it was actually quite smooth nice fruit flavors going down with some cinnamon after taste. It did have a bit of a hot finish as mentioned but i wouldnt say in a bad way. Still got good flavors coming through and i didnt feel it tough to sip most of the heat was felt on my tongue after it went down which is unusual for me at least.

Very smooth definitely taste cinnamon and heavy oak. On the nose it smells like rich chocolate. Glad i sought this bottle out definitely worth the price

I stumbled upon this about 10 years ago before the bourbon craze fully hit. I loved it and hadnt been anle to find it again. Saw they had bottles in kentucky when i was there and grabbed one. It still holds up. Very pleasant mix of oak and sweet taste very sippable and smooth. Not the most complex bourbon and the mystery around where it comes from keeps us guessing but youd be hard found to find a non allocated bottle for thus price range as good

Really enjoyed this my friend shared pour with me. I got a very unique flavor profile. Heavy caramel notes on the finish but a pleasant candy type taste almost like cake or bubble gum taste initially along with traditional oak and leather bourbon notes
