Peerless Double Oak Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 23, 2025 (edited April 11, 2026)Nose: Dark orange, caramel, maple syrup, and heavy toasted oak, classic double oak sweetness with a bright citrus lift. Palate: Orange cream and burnt caramel up front, turning dry and tannic with bitter oak and cinnamon. Finish: Medium, mouth-coating, and quite drying oak and spice linger with a touch of cocoa bitterness. Overall: Beautiful nose but overly too wood driven on the palate. The oak overshadows the sweetness. -
Nose: Bursting with caramel apple pie, baked apples, cinnamon, and a touch of oak. Rich and nostalgic, like homemade sour cream apple pie. Palate: Rye-forward with cinnamon spice, light nuttiness, and a hint of mint. No fruit or bourbon sweetness carries through. Finish: Medium, leaning dry with gentle rye spice and lingering cinnamon warmth.

Nose: Opens with a clear nuttiness that quickly shifts toward a gentle licorice note, balanced by smooth vanilla. Sits right on the line between peanut butter richness and light anise. Palate: Prickly spice carries through with good intensity. Finish: Long, warming, and laced with caramel sweetness.

You get classic aged rye: mature oak, a little orchard wood, maybe a hint of tobacco. There’s plenty of sweetness, almost too much at times, and a slight artificial note tucked in there, but not enough to distract. The nose is fantastic. Mouthfeel is oily and persistent, just clings in all the right ways. Overall, this is great whiskey. Not wild, not funky, just really well executed.

Explosive and refined. Deep notes of dark rye spice, cocoa, and toasted oak lead into a bold, full-bodied palate with waves of vanilla, burnt sugar, and roasted grain. Long, clean finish. Sweet but never cloying. A powerhouse pour with clarity and polish; familiar flavors delivered with standout precision and intensity.

G4 Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed May 23, 2025 (edited April 11, 2026)G4's profile just hits me in the feels. This is the best of the bunch. That minerality is masked a bit with a ton of baking spice, especially clove. Palate is loaded with typical G4 flavor profile but the addition of cinnamon and spice from the barrel not only take this over the top but adds to the mouthfeel. Close to perfect.
