Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Madeira Wood Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 25, 2017Fruit is very pronounced. Smooth, but nothing special. Can do the same for less with a Glenfarclas. -
Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed December 25, 2016 (edited September 5, 2017)Price needs to be considered and for $25, this is a reasonably solid Irish. A little citrus and a bit of burn. The burn comes from the young age, as the proof is too low to be a factor. Easy as a sipper with a splash of water if you aren't trying to impress with anything terribly complex. -
Have to keep this in perspective based on its low price. Pretty smooth, if not a bit lacking on flavor. What flavor it does have is a bit of vanilla. No spice, so any burn comes from the immaturity, but it is plenty manageable. No problem with having a bottle on the shelf for an easy drink without much thought.
