New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Michigan), USA
Reviewed August 7, 2014 (edited April 24, 2018)I bet the barrel tastes good. But seriously, are they using this to make beer or vice versa? Not as bad as the critics say. I taste vanilla and oak, the finish is smooth but there's a hollowness throughout. Something is missing and it's probably with the devil or the angels. Needs more bourbon and less woody water. Many sips later, the pepper emerges. -
Speyburn Bradan Orach
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 25, 2014 (edited October 13, 2014)Sweet from the beginning, honey and vanilla are full throughout. Not very smokey or salty. A bit tart at the end. This would be better with a thick peat or maybe some smoke with less sweetness. Ryan is right - malty at the end. I like that. -
Like most Jamesons, it is light on everything. But so smooth, sweet with a hint of maple and a solid barrel flavor. Smoke and fruit is perfectly balanced. This is underrated by the reviewers. 3/17/2015. Happy St. Patty's to all. Thought I'd start my day off smooth with his over ice. I don't recommend as it crashes out the fruit (you can see essential oils come out of solution) and leaves just smoke.

Ardmore Traditional Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 23, 2014 (edited April 24, 2018)Tried this to get more peat but there were some other flavors I couldn't get along with. Sweet, citrus an a bit too oily for my liking. -
High West Campfire (Discontinued)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in Utah), Multiple Countries
Reviewed July 22, 2014 (edited April 24, 2018)For the price, I'd take this again although not what I expected. A bit spicy on the tongue and pure smoke. Rich and full, but not as peaty as billed. The bourbon influence infuses a tang and the fruit is a bit more hidden but lingers in the aftertaste. -
Crown Royal Cask No. 16
Canadian — Manitoba, Canada
Reviewed July 2, 2014 (edited December 18, 2021)Best Canadian whiskey I've had. Honestly didn't know what it was when I got it as a wedding gift from a friend. Sweet and smooth. This is a dessert whiskey if I've ever had one.
