Strong nose with grapes. Awesome strong start with vanilla. Great sweet taste that lingers. This and Chita are the best Japanese grains.

A little smoke on the nose, lots of oak, nice malt at the beginning of the finish. Definitely a full bodied whisky.

Weak nose, a little sour. Cinnamon spice and vanilla. Malt is not very present until the finish. Hint of pepper on the end. Has more of a bourbon taste than other Japanese grain blends.

I can smell a little smoke and grapes on the nose. Short finish. Sweet. Pretty awesome that you can taste the Hakushu on the early part of the finish! Awesome whisky. I wish it were more available.

This is the whisky that turned me onto whisky. I like it because I swear I can taste some peated malt which balances out all the American grains. And the smoke isn’t overpowering. The finish is a little bitter which is fine by me.

Nose of vanilla and marzipan. Hold it in you mouth and let the aroma fill the nose with barley. The finish is a little salty with the subtle sweetness fading away. Very nice. A prominent oak taste on the finish.

Like Yamazaki 12 with more vanilla flavor. Savory flavor, perfect amount of peat on the nose. Layers of flavor. Lingering barley flavor. Love it.

Very sweet nose, marzipan. Excellent barely flavor upfront. Love the barley finish. Vanilla flavors. The aromas fill the nose while sipping. Excellent whisky. Finish lingers a while—a long while, which is awesome. Lingers longer than Nikka’s various Malts.
