J.T.S. Brown Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 14, 2020 (edited December 9, 2021)Nose: rich caramel, vanilla notes with some baking spice and leather. Palate: gradual increasing vanilla and caramel notes with some barrel spice. Finish: lingering caramel notes and plenty of "hug". Great bourbon for the price. Definitely underrated.12.4 USD per Bottle -
Wathen's Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 13, 2020 (edited September 18, 2020)Nose: sweet caramel, oak (almost antique wood) and tobacco. Palate: weak entrance starting with a dusty grain note before developing into a peppery caramel tanning note. Finish: quick finish with a mild dry red wine style ending. In closing: not a bad over all bourbon. Personally I believe I would pair this with an appetizer or a chucherie board. -
Ardbeg Wee Beastie
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed August 11, 2020 (edited September 18, 2020)Nose: smokey, earthy, MEATY! some peat. Palate: everything the nose leads it up to be. This is my first Ardbeg and I absolutely love it. Don't fear the young age, Its wonderful! Everything is perfectly balanced in this young Whiskey. I would suggest this to anyone over the legal age of consumption. The only recommendation I would have is slightly more proof. But other than that, its magnificent. -
Jim Beam Single Barrel Bourbon (95 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 11, 2020 (edited October 24, 2020)Nose: caramel, vanilla, baking spice. Palate: creamy vanilla, brown sugar and peanuts/ peanut butter. Final thoughts: very good daily sipper for the price. First time finding a dominant peanut flavor on the Palate. Definitely worth buying and recommend it as a starter or change up in someone's cabinet.34.95 USD per Bottle -
Very Old Barton 86 Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 17, 2020 (edited October 18, 2020)Yes, Four stars! Nose- toffee, salted caramel, sweet berries and chocolate. Palate- first hint of vanilla with a rush of cinnamon that lingers then back to a hint of vanilla. Definitely not what I was expecting. Finish- much longer than expected and it kept me wanting more! At $11.99 a bottle this was definitely a unicorn of a find! My local ABC store had these labeled 1 per customer due limited quantities and difficulty in getting them. I'm very impressed in how good this bourbon was at the price point.11.99 USD per Bottle -
Lagavulin 16 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed January 15, 2020 (edited September 21, 2020)Disclaimer- this was the first scotch I've ever purchased/ tasted. I bought this bottle approximately 2 years ago and I've tried to enjoy it, at the time, the best way I knew how......I knew nothing at the time lol. After learning how to nose, taste and enjoy bourbon, I've implemented the same to tasting this scotch. Nose- smokey, peat, oak and I got a honey note at the end. Palate- initially I get a smokey oak flavor with a very subtle peat note. Finish- very smooth and a lingering smoke flavor that's enjoyable, I could definitely have a rocky patel with this! Conclusion- I'm giving this a 3 star review simply because, I finally enjoyed this after I've learned how to drink different whisk(e)ys. I havent purchased or tasted any other scotches to compare it to so I cant, in full confidence, rate it higher than that.95.99 USD per Bottle -
All I can say is wow! The nose- sweet, Carmel, chocolate and vanilla with a slight oak touch. The palate- vanilla, creamy texture with almost a pie crust taste, slight spice. The finish- mellow to no burn, extremely smooth and a great refreshing mild vanilla taste. Conclusion- buy a bottle or 10. In writing this is the first time I've ever tried Buffalo Trace, and others recommend this as a starter bourbon. I think this is a great pick for any level of aficionado. It's not that complex in fact very simple but the distillers at Buffalo Trace have mastered the simplicity of this bourbon. I will probably always buy a bottle everytime I come across it.28.95 USD per Bottle

Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 4, 2020 (edited September 18, 2020)Note: this was a neck pour with a couple drops of water, after first trying neat. The nose after adding water, was sweet, all spice with cinnamon and vanilla. The palate was a vanilla pie crust tasted with an oily texture followed with a spicy cinnamon. The finish was spicy but pleasant and not much burn for a 110 proof. In conclusion, after trying it neat, personally I found it to be very spicy from start to finish. After adding a few drops of water, I thought it brought out the great character of this bourbon and I see why it has such great reviews. Wonderful bourbon -
Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 30, 2019 (edited September 18, 2020)Over all, not a bad bourbon. The nose- hints of vanilla, cinnamon, chard oak. The palate- mild intro with a gradual increase in the "hug" with hints of vanilla and cinnamon and decent oil texture. The finish- was much longer than expected and appealing. The proof isnt high at all and therefore not a bad burn. In conclusion- I'm definitely going to purchase this again. The Old Forester signature 100 proof, in my opinion, is a good choice for a "daily" drink or in better terms, a bourbon you would consume more commonly. As always, please enjoy responsibly. -
Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 1
