Color: an apricot hue almost orange copper Nose: light and delicate. Some alcohol tannins but not much. A slight toasted bread note. Cinnamon and brown spices are very present. Leather in the back. No real fruitiness to speak of. Pallet: initially sweet, like a dark fruit jam over a piece of toast. In the middle spiciness makes an appearance with cinnamon and allspice. On the backend a lingering cherry note. The oak and char his present for not overwhelming for a seven year old. Finish: The finish is medium, quite pleasant and lingering cherry and red fruity note all appears once the spice has dissipated. Overall very nicely balanced with sweet and spiciness. I was quite surprised at the level of spice with there being 0% rye all must’ve been brought in through maturation in the oak cask. I believe the Mashville on this particular whiskey is 51% wheat, 39% corn, and 10% malted barley.40.0 USD per Bottle

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 23, 2021 (edited December 20, 2021)Color: deep copper Nose: Toasted marshmallows, sweet vanilla, lightly toasted oak, and corn are topped with light fruit. The additional aging in a second barrel seems to have imparted less heavy wood and oak pulling forward the sweeter flavors. Comparably, Double Oaked presents a surprisingly more diverse and enjoyable experience. The second barrel is Toasted 5 times longer than the first but charred 1/5 of the time. Pallet: Oak and sweet vanilla are the dominant flavors here. light hints of leather, caramel, and dried dark fruits. A deeper sweetness than the original bourbon. The vanilla plays nicely with the woody oak flavors. Double Oaked manages to come across as richer and heavier in comparison to standard Woodford Reserve. Finish: The mildest of heat appears with dried fruits, rye spices, chocolates, and a leather sense. The oak leather and white pepper heat hangs on for a decent amount of time.55.0 USD per Bottle -
Woodford Reserve happens to be the only distillery that is exclusively using pot stills to make their product. The distillery that was there prior had column stills but had not made whiskey since 1959. All of the old equipment was stripped out and repossessed. Woodford reserve started distilling in that location with pot stills only, and I believe is the only distillery left that distills exclusively in pot stills. Color: copper Nose: An array of old leather, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch. The rye makes an appearance and shows a bit of fruitiness. Pallet: semi sweet on the pallet a nice creamy mouth fill with notes of vanilla and caramel light fruits and rye spices. Finish: finishes medium leaving a aftertaste of oak vanilla and caramel.40.0 USD per Bottle

Color: is a copper hue Unfortunately I believe the whiskey is colored. Nose: Very complex and and delicate, hints of orange vanilla toffee, caramel, a creamy buttery softness, sherry notes coming from the middle with a slight Okey tone with an ever so general smoke. Pallet: Oh so sweet! Very feminine and soft on the tongue, mouth watering and coating blasting the pallet with notes of dark fruits plums, grapes, dark cherry. Add a splash of water and the fruit becomes brighter with citrus fruits of oranges and vanilla oak influences. Finish: is a soft warmness with a hint of brown spices appearing, the vanilla after taste is quite pleasant. It leaves the pallet longing for another sip. This dram is so refined and delicate. So soft on the pallet with no heat spiciness to speak off you can hold it in your Mouth as long as you please! Has to be one of my all time favorite scotch whiskies.150.0 USD per Bottle

Pallet: a surprisingly viscous mouth feel. It’s mouth coating with vanilla, oak, and cherry almonds. The middle brings a light white pepper spice along with brown spices. The finish is medium with a honey vanilla after taste. A splash of water opens up some more floral notes as really brings the vanilla to the front. Over all a beautiful whisky very velvety and mouth coating and mouth watering. Easy sipping neat or with a cube.80.0 USD per Bottle -
Town Branch Cask Strength Single Malt
American Single Malt — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed November 19, 2021 (edited June 13, 2022)Color: quite dark. As expected for 11 year old in an oloroso sherry cask. Nose: Musty dark fruits, slight Vanilla note. Heavy oak wood right off the bat. Lots of sherry, Concord grape, white grapes, dates, label states “coca” Mmm not for me I’m not picking that up. Pallet: very fruity with a lot of sherry and heavy dark red fruits, figs, grapes, black cherry, in the middle the oak appears with a bit of char, a Pepper spice appears but not too intense. Finish: the finish is fairly short leaving a fruity after taste with some Citric fruit. The Oak fades quickly making the pallet want more. Over all a well balanced, well done whisky. Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 18, 2021 (edited February 2, 2022)Vanilla and butterscotch up front with a surprising floral note. A nice twist on a typical bourbon flavor profile. The middle has a nice nutty note and then the spice makes an appearance. At 50% ABV the alcohol let’s you know it’s there. On the finish more vanilla and white pepper spice, not too intense but nice and balanced. The finish is medium to medium-long leaving you with a light tobacco note.149.0 USD per BottleKnoxville
