Garrison Brothers Balmorhea Texas Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Texas, USA
Reviewed February 19, 2021 (edited March 11, 2021)Color: deep brown, one of the darkest GB I’ve seen other than maybe Cowboy Nose: Cinnamon, toffee, brown sugar, and leather Palate: Cherries, dark fruit (dates), but also bakers chocolate. This is so complex, and was my first pour from the bottle, can’t wait for this to open up! -
Weller Antique 107 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 18, 2021 (edited March 1, 2021)Nose: tons of caramel, toffee and honey, slight fruit (cherry and apples) Palate: apples, cinnamon, caramel, a bit of heat due to the proof, not too overwhelming Nicely coats the glass and has thick, oily mouthfeel. -
Nose: Butter, shortbread, some dried fruit, and definitely some acetone/alcohol Palate: Starts with some dried fruit, cranberry, shortbread, and ends with black pepper Has some heat, which is surprising how much for a bottle that isn’t cask strength, but it doesn’t take away from the quality of this whiskey.

Barrell Rum Private Release Blend J650 (The 9th Floor)
Aged Rum — Multiple Countries
Reviewed August 7, 2020Oh My....this is awful Palate: dish soap and a taste that is reminiscent of burning plastic. This is not a joke I am totally serious! This has to be the worst rum I’ve ever had! Don’t just run away if someone says it’s good and offers this to you, you will want to disown or unfriend them! Ugh....what a waste of money....could have gotten almost 2 bottles of Diplomatico for what this one cost.
